Matthew Long

A furniture, lighting and upholstery designer based in London.

Matthew started his career working in his Uncle’s upholstery factory in South Wales, where he first discovered his passion for creativity. Graduating with a BA Furniture Design from Ravensbourne College of Design in 2004, he moved quickly into the furniture industry, where he built strong relationships with manufacturers across the globe, making key contacts within the industry, ensuring he got best in production and design,

In 2010 Matthew joined the Habitat design team. This is where he really came into his own, utilising his ability to create work with a breadth of designs and styles. An inclusive commercially focused designer, with an honest and open approach to design. Matthew is led aesthetically by form and function, but often integrates charm and personality into his creations. More recently Matthew has completed designs for Habitat's new store concepts, including the flagship Tottenham Court Road store.
